The Government Property Trust invests directly into properties with goverment tenants and provides the opportunity for investors to gain secure income returns in volatile markets. The Government Property Trust is managed by Australian Public Trustees Ltd, and , at 31 December 2007 , had gross assets of $134 million, with revenues of $10.8 million from 12 properties leased to government agencies, located in most states in Australia. The minimum investment is $10,000 and subscriptions close on 31 July 2008. Series 5 Preference Units offer the following: an 8.25% per annum yield paid quaterly for 3 years;and a 10 cent additional payment at maturity for each $1.00 unit; and earn interest at the cash rate until allotment at the end of each month.
